Look Whooo Turned One!

I'm finally getting a chance to post a few pictures from Meredith's birthday party! We made so many sweet memories that day. It was a special day for everyone!
Happy Birthday, Meredith! We Love You!

The theme... "Look Whooo's Turning One! ..And the decor, OWLS! Everything turned out really cute! I had a little too much fun making most of the decorations.

I think my favorite thing was the owl birthday garland. I made 12 owls with a picture of Meredith from each month. It's hard to believe just how much she changed each month. I think I'll pull it out on each birthday.

The "Birthday Girl" with her party hat on!
Diving right in for her cake!

Licking the icing off her fingers... the best part!

Everyone wore party hats!

Ready to open a few presents.
Showing her friend, Ann Evelyn her new wheels and all the fun things she like to keep under the hood... like her cell phone.

Having some birthday fun with Lorin!
She hasn't stopped pushing her grocery cart! Thanks, Bean!

There are too many pictures to post! It was such a fun day! Many thanks to our family and friends who helped make this day so special for Meredith!

It's hard to believe Meredith is 1! We've had such a fun day celebrating! Tonight, Meredith got her first real taste of a birthday cake! As you can see from the pictures, she loved it...even down to the last bite!

Waiting on Daddy

Every afternoon around 5:00 p.m., Meredith and I make our way over to the front window and begin to wait for Alan to get home from work.

She likes to bang on the window and wave to everyone that drives by, but as soon as Alan turns into the driveway...

Meredith gets so excited. She knows her Daddy is home! She will crawl right to the back door and meet him as he is walking in.

Beach Trip

We took a beach trip in June with our good friends, the Winsteads. Santa Rosa, Fl has become one of our favorite beach destinations. Meredith wasn't so sure about the ocean or the sand, but she had lots of fun in the pool. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Swinging Into Summer

1st Trip to the Pool

Meredith is a big fan of the swimming pool. She loves cruising around in her spring float. I think we will be spending lots of these hot summer days staying cool in the pool.

I think she's got it figured out!

Hairbows

Meredith's hair is finally long enough to hold a hairbow... too bad she will have nothing of it. She pulls it out just about as fast I can get it in. Even though it's not for long, I think it looks adorable!

Meredith's Baptism

On April 18, Meredith was baptised at Christ United Methodist Church. It was a wonderful day, and a day to be celebrated! Alan and I were excited to have so many family and friends with us on such a special occasion. Thank you to everyone who came and joined us in celebration of her baptism!

My dear friend, Laura Shirley, shared this prayer with me on this day:

Lord, bless this tiny infant,

Who is brought to you today,

And teach those precious feet little feet,

To follow in Your way,

Lord, bless the baby's parents too,

And with your loving care,

Grant them all the happiness,

A family can share.

Our pastor, David Brownlee, baptised Meredith. Meredith was just precious. Right as I was handing her to him, she reached right for him, as if to say, "I am ready, Lord!" It was very sweet.

After church, everyone joined us in our home for a wonderful lunch.
Sweet cousins! What a fun bunch of girls!
Special thanks to these sweet friends!
I couldn't have done it without you!

Mother's Day in Nashville

Mother's Day was so special this year. I am very thankful to the Lord for blessing me with Meredith and giving me the opportunity to be her Mom. I know I will always remember this 1st Mother's Day! We spent Mother's Day weekend in Nashville visiting some of our very best friends, The Axfords and the Winsteads. Many thanks to the Winsteads for letting us stay with them. Meredith and Braden had a blast playing together, and so did their parents!
We can't wait to go back!

Katie is such a dear friend, and we have so many fun childhood memories. We are excited to watch these two grow up together and make fun memories of their own.

Meredith LOVED going for a ride in Braden's radio flyer wagon!

We found out just how much Meredith likes to swing!
We made two trips to the park!

She really enjoyed playing outside.

We met the Axford's at the park for an afternoon playdate.

These sweet girls are just six weeks apart!
Meredith and Mary Ellen are sure to best friends
(and maybe college roomates, just like their moms)!
There are lots of fun times ahead for the two of them!

Happy Mother's Day!
My sweet girl!

Happy Easter

Meredith's first Easter was special for all of us.

Trying to eat my bunny ears!

Sitting outside at Shuga and Big Daddy's house.

I had so much fun putting together an Easter basket together for Meredith.
There were so many fun things for her to play with, and Alan and I had fun watching her look and play with everything.

Checking out her 1st wooden egg, the 1st of many. There was always a special wooden egg in my basket growing up, and I am looking forward to carrying on the tradition. Thanks, Mom!

Discovering puffs... Yummy!

Her favorite thing...
the Easter Grass!
Our little Easter Bunny!
